This BCI and Oeko-Tex 100-certified cotton voile is light as a feather and refreshing as a cool breeze on a hot day. Like all traditional voiles, it has a fine, silky weave and super soft hand, with a slightly crisp drape. Ideal for all kinds of summer wear, it's one of our most breathable fabrics. Imagine it as a flowy gathered dress, romantic blouse, or breezy shirtdress. It's also a must-have in your sewing stash due to its utility as a lightweight lining, body-providing underlining, or protective press cloth. Semi-sheer, this fabric will need to be lined for certain applications.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.

Fabric Tips

You can use a hot iron when pressing. We recommend using french seams for sheer and semisheer cotton to enclose the raw edges.
